Blended learning

Blended learning combines online learning, such as eLearning courses and videos, with live instruction, in a classroom or over video. A typical blend uses self-paced online modules for knowledge and live sessions for practice, discussion and assessment, all tracked together as one programme in the LMS.

Why it matters

Some skills are best learned by doing, with an expert in the room. Blending keeps the efficiency of online learning for the theory and saves live time for what needs it.

How it works in Litmos

A Litmos course can mix online modules with instructor-led sessions, so a learner's progress on the course reflects both.

Common pitfalls

Live sessions that repeat the online content, and attendance that isn't recorded, so the course never shows as complete.
