Compliance training

Compliance training is training employees must complete to meet legal, regulatory or company policy requirements, such as data privacy, anti-bribery, health and safety, or information security. Organisations usually need to prove who completed it and when, and many topics must be repeated on a schedule, often every year.

Why it matters

Gaps in compliance training are a real risk in an audit, an incident or a customer security review. The training itself is usually short; the work is in making sure everyone has done it, and can prove it.

How it works in Litmos

Courses are assigned to the people who need them, often through teams or auto-assign rules, with due dates. Courses can be set up so that completions expire after a period, which prompts people to retake them.

Common pitfalls

Chasing overdue people from exported spreadsheets; missing completions that are about to expire; and looking only at the site-wide percentage, which hides the teams that are behind.
